Streaming platform AAO NXT exclusively brings you all types of Odia language contents, all dubbed in various other languages, as well as in its original Odia language. After a long time, AAO NXT is set to bring a new Odia film—Daman, which made its theatrical release in 2022 in Odisha. The adventure drama will be available across the nation for diverse audiences within two weeks on the OTT platform.

The Odia adventure drama film—Daman is set to make its OTT debut on October 15, 2024, only on AAO NXT. Interestingly, you can also watch the film through OTTplay Premium. Directed by Debiprasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya, backed by Deependra Samal, the Odia film features Babushaan Mohanty, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, and Karan Kandhapan.

Daman plot overview

The adventure drama unfolds in the year 2015, amidst the rugged and remote landscape of Malkangiri district, Odisha, a region notorious for its Naxalite insurgency and lack of basic amenities. The lead character Sid is a young and idealistic doctor, who has recently completed his MMBS, is assigned to this challenging outspot, a district comprising one-hundred-fifty-one villages.

However, as Sid embarks on his journey to this isolation corner of India, he confronts the harsh realities of life in a Naxal-infested area. With limited resources and facing constant threats, Sid must summon all his courage, resilience, and medical expertise to provide healthcare to the underprivileged population.

The film Daman is a poignant portrayal of the challenges and triumphs faced by those who dedicate their lives to serving in such demanding environments, a true-life testament to the power of dedication.

Daman to re-release in the theatres

The Odia adventure drama is going to re-release in the theatres on October 9, 2024, before its OTT debut on AAO NXT. The film will be re-released in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Rourkela, and Angul of Odisha state.

Actor Babushaan Mohanty dropped the exciting news a few days back through Facebook. While being excited, he wrote, “Feeling delighted to announce the grand re-release of the most loved and adored Film of odisha DAMaN. See you in the theatres…let’s celebrate this Dusshera with DAMaN Together…we’ll be waiting.”
