Saba Azad shared with OTTplay that working on Crime Beat really opened her eyes to the world of journalism. She said, "What I learned is that getting that one story published in the newspaper requires a ton of effort and teamwork. So many people play a role at various stages, from stringers to informants, and there's this intricate relationship between the police and journalists."

Saba thinks journalism is a pretty challenging field, but she also sees it as a role that carries a lot of responsibility. "When you're looking into crime, there are so many different perspectives to consider, and you have to keep everything balanced. It's definitely not an easy job, and it requires a strong sense of duty. If you're reporting, you need to stick to the truth without letting your opinions or biases creep in," she explained.

The Crime Beat actress believes that personal biases and political opinions shouldn't interfere with honest reporting. "So, I realized that it's a really tough profession," Saba added.

Crime Beat Overview

Directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sanjeev Kaul, Crime Beat tells the story of a small-town journalist whose life takes a turn due to a gangster's influence. Saqib Saleem stars as Abhishek, while Saba plays Maya. The cast also features Sai Tamhankar, Adinath Kothare, and Rahul Bhat.
