On Tuesday, Netflix posted the trailer for Test on X (formerly known as Twitter). The clip kicks off with Nayanthara introducing her childhood friend, a cricketer played by Siddharth, to her husband, a scientist played by Madhavan. Interestingly, she describes him as someone who runs a canteen. The trailer delves into the challenges Madhavan and Nayanthara face in their marriage while juggling their careers, alongside Arjun (Siddharth) as he tries to find a balance between his personal and work life. With their lives interconnected, every decision, sacrifice, and ambition leads them toward a pivotal moment in this ultimate life challenge.
In their post, the platform said, "TEST trailer out now. How far will they go for their dreams? Only a TEST will tell. Watch TEST, featuring @ActorMadhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth, premiering on April 4 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, exclusively on Netflix!"
Fans are buzzing with excitement for the film. One person commented, "I’m expecting a fantastic performance from Nayan." Another added, "Madhavan isn’t just acting; he’s truly embodying that character. It gives me chills!" Someone else chimed in, "Another masterpiece from Madhavan sir."
When discussing his role as Saravanan, R Madhavan mentioned, "Just like my character in TEST is committed to achieving scientific breakthroughs, I strive to bring authenticity to every role I get to play. TEST showcases the relentless quest for excellence and the sacrifices made to uphold one’s legacy. Working with this amazing team and my buddy, debut director S. Sashikanth, has been an incredible experience, and my time with Netflix has always been delightful. I’m eager to see how audiences respond to this film and to Saravanan as a character."
For Siddharth, taking on the role of Arjun was both a passion project and a challenge. "Cricket has always been a love of mine, and in TEST, it becomes the essence of my character’s journey. He lives and breathes the sport, but beyond that, he faces choices that test his very being. Each decision has its consequences, which makes this journey so captivating. It’s been a privilege to be part of this intense, layered narrative, and being involved from the beginning makes it even more meaningful. I can’t wait to introduce Arjun to audiences around the globe," he shared.
Reflecting on her character Kumudha, Nayanthara said, "Some stories stick with you, and TEST is definitely one of them. My character loves deeply, fights quietly, and bears the burden of choices that alter everything. Immersing myself in her world was both challenging and incredibly fulfilling. The trailer has just been released, and I’m excited for audiences to embark on this journey. My relationship with Netflix keeps growing, and I can’t wait for viewers everywhere to witness Kumudha’s story."
