Crazxy box office collection day 1: Sohum Shah's thriller film Crazxy has officially premiered in theaters. The audience's reaction to the film has been varied, a sentiment that is also evident in its box office performance. As reported by Sacnilk, the film experienced a sluggish beginning in terms of box office earnings.
Crazxy box office report
The trade tracking platform has indicated that Sohum Shah's thriller garnered merely ₹90 lakhs on its opening day. The film achieved an overall occupancy rate of 16.53%, with specific figures of 12.10% for morning screenings, 11.06% for afternoon showings, 14.52% for evening performances, and 28.45% for night viewings.
This film faced competition from Reema Kagti’s Superboys of Malegaon, featuring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Singh, and Shashank Arora in prominent roles. Despite its lackluster debut, Crazxy managed to outperform Kagti’s film at the box office, as Superboys of Malegaon only accumulated ₹45 lakhs. Sohum’s previous work, Tumbbad, had recently seen success following its re-release. Notably, Crazxy did not even exceed the re-release earnings of Tumbbad, which stood at ₹1.60 crore. Consequently, the film has recorded the second-lowest opening of 2025 to date.
About Crazxy
This film is a thriller crafted by Girish Kohli, who took on both writing and directing responsibilities, and it is produced by Sohum Shah Films. Sohum Shah, who plays a significant role in the film, collaborates with Mukesh Shah, Amita Shah, and Adesh Prasad as co-producers. The ensemble cast features notable performances from Tinnu Anand, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shilpa Shukla. The narrative centers around a doctor who finds himself in a perilous game of cat-and-mouse following a disturbing phone call. As the plot progresses, the doctor must act swiftly to rescue his daughter.
A review from Hindustan Times regarding Crazxy states, "Crazxy starts off in a rather conventional manner. The storyline lacks originality and resembles typical race-against-time narratives. The jarring background score, if designed to irritate, certainly achieves that aim. The pre-interval segment can be summarized as evoking no emotional response whatsoever. It is an unusual sensation, as there is neither excitement nor fear—and that is crazxy."
