Actor Jr NTR’s forthcoming collaboration with director Prashanth Neel is among the most anticipated projects in Telugu cinema. On Wednesday, the film's team shared an update indicating that the actor will soon commence shooting; here are the details.

Jr NTR to join shooting for Prasanth Neel’s film from April 22

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the untitled NTR Neel project, along with the producers, Mythri Movie Makers, announced the news, stating, “#NTRNeel is entering its most explosive phase. Man of Masses @Tarak9999 steps into the destructive soil from April 22nd.” They also released a poster to emphasize this announcement.

Fans expressed their excitement upon learning that Jr NTR would soon start filming, with one fan remarking, “Redefine the action cinema & going to set new benchmarks in the global film industry.” Another added, “Blockbuster loading super excited.” One fan suggested, “NTR & Neel are cooking something big.” However, some fans were left disappointed, hoping for more than just the date of Jr NTR's shooting commencement.

About NTR Neel

NTR Neel officially began production in February of this year, with Prashanth filming an intense scene featuring extras. Jr NTR shared a photo from the first day of shooting on his Instagram stories. The image captured Prashanth atop a vehicle, surrounded by numerous extras behind a police barricade. A damaged Ambassador car was visible on the road, suggesting an accident, alongside scattered bicycles near a fire.

The announcement of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film was made on the actor’s birthday in 2022, and filming commenced after a considerable delay in 2025. Although a release date has not yet been confirmed, the film is anticipated to premiere in 2026. Initially, the team had planned for a release on January 9 of the following year, but it remains uncertain if this timeline will be met. Additional details regarding the cast and crew are still pending.

Jr NTR is also set to make his Bollywood debut soon in Ayan Mukherji's War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan.
