
Citadel Season 2 Hit by Delays, Amazon MGM Reportedly Unimpressed

The release of Citadel 2, featuring actor Priyanka Chopra, has been delayed and will no longer debut this year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the development of all spinoff series related to the spy action franchise has also been put on hold.

The report, referencing its sources, indicated that Amazon MGM is aiming for a spring 2026 premiere for the show. All spinoff series are currently paused "until the release of the second season, potentially for an indefinite period." It has been reported that Amazon MGM is "dissatisfied with the current progress of season two."
Citadel season one
The inaugural season of Citadel featured Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra in leading roles. This six-episode season was noted for being among the most costly television productions ever created. It debuted on April 28, 2023, and included a talented cast comprising Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Moller, and Rahul Kohli, among others.
The narrative centered on elite operatives Mason Kane (played by Richard) and Nadia Sinh (portrayed by Priyanka), who had their memories erased as they narrowly escaped with their lives following the collapse of the independent global spy organization, Citadel.
About Citadel season two
Priyanka has recently revealed the commencement of filming for the second season of the Prime Video spy action series. The season is penned by David Well, and the actress will return to her role as spy Nadia Sinh. Filming for the second season concluded in late November of the previous year. Citadel is being executive produced by AGBO, the production company founded by Joe and Anthony Russo.

Multiple spin-off series of Citadel in languages other than English have been announced, featuring locations in India, Spain, Mexico, and Italy. The Italian installment, Citadel: Diana, debuted on October 10, 2024. Directed by Arnaldo Catinari, the series featured a cast that included Matilda De Angelis, Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, and Julia Piaton, among others.
The Indian series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, premiered on November 7, 2024. This series, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was directed by the duo Raj & DK.
