The makers of the Malayalam film, Chithini, have dropped a new update regarding its theatrical release. The horror drama will hit big screens on September 27 worldwide. The movie, starring Bengali actress Moksha, Vinay Forrt, and Amith Chakkalakkal in lead roles, was earlier slated to release on August 2, however, postponed in the wake of the tragic multiple landslides that occurred in Wayanad. So far, no other Malayalam film has been scheduled to release on September 27. 

What is Chithini all about?

It cannot be denied that the trailer for the movie hinted at a scary drama set in the middle of a forest. Vinay appears to be a youngster trying to figure out the cause of Chithini's death or disappearance. He says he can use current paranormal equipment to feel negative energy. While residing in the enigmatic bungalow, Amith plays a police officer looking into a number of bizarre murders and occurrences in a forest. Moksha portrays Amith's wife, who seems to be possessed by the ghost.

The teaser also makes reference to Chithini's mysterious pregnancy and the strange local custom of human sacrifice prevailing in the locality. All in all, it appears to suggest that viewers will have a horrifying time at the film. The film's two previously unveiled teasers also hinted at an intriguing horror drama that centres on a distant tribal region. The identity of Chithini in this horror thriller has also not been revealed by the producers, and it is anticipated that this will all come to light when the movie opens in theatres.

The screenplay for the movie were written by East Coast Vijayan and K V Anil. The supporting cast of this film includes Johnny Antony, Joy Mathew, Sudheesh, Srikanth Murali, Jayakrishnan, Manikandan Achari, Sujith Shankar, Pramod Veliyanadu, Rajesh Sharma, Unni Raja, Anoop Sivasevan, and Kootikal Jayachandran.
