The announcement of director Malladi Vassishta, known for his work on Bimbisara, collaborating with Chiranjeevi on a socio-fantasy film reminiscent of the actor's 1990 blockbuster Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, generated immense anticipation. However, fans received a sobering reminder when the teaser for Vishwabhara was unveiled in October of the previous year, which faced criticism for its poor visual quality. Several months later, Vassishta's father, producer Satyanarayana Reddy, discussed this issue in an interview with TeluguOne.

Vishwambhara was initially scheduled for release during Sankranthi; however, the release date was taken over by the Ram Charan-led film, Game Changer. Satyanarayana explained that his son and the production team misjudged the time required for filming and completing the CGI work for the movie. “They miscalculated the duration needed for shooting and the subsequent CGI process. When they consulted the CGI team, they were informed it would take three months. The team suggested extending it to six months if it would enhance the quality of the output. Unfortunately, the CGI team did not provide a realistic timeline, as they were reluctant to lose a lucrative opportunity.”
He then revealed that the visuals showcased in the teaser were generated using AI due to the CGI team's failure to meet deadlines. Furthermore, he asserted that these visuals would not be included in the final film, stating, “The intention was to release the film for Sankranthi, but time was running short. Consequently, they resorted to using AI at the last moment to create scenes, which did not meet the expected CGI standards. These will not appear in the movie. (After the teaser was released) they became apprehensive and recognized the need for additional time to complete the film properly.”
Internet reacts
Reactions to the statement were mixed, with some individuals expressing disbelief while others speculated whether the narrative was fabricated to mitigate damage. One fan remarked, “Damage Control,” while sharing a clip of the interview on X (formerly Twitter). Another user questioned, “What’s the rush, sir? Please ensure this one becomes a lifetime movie.” A different commenter inquired, “Ante sainma lo ee matram kuda quality vundada?? (Are you suggesting the film will be of lower quality?)” Additionally, a fan raised the question, “Ipudu entraa Chiru ayinaa original ah? Leka AI chiru ah??? (Is Chiranjeevi in the teaser real or generated by AI?)”
The film Vishwambhara features Chiranjeevi, Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, and Ashika Ranganath. Produced by UV Creations, it is anticipated to be released later this year, with music composed by Oscar winner MM Keeravaani.
