Vishwambhara is among the most anticipated films featuring Chiranjeevi and has been under production for more than a year. Originally scheduled for release during Sankranthi 2025, the fantasy drama has been delayed to prioritize the release of Ram Charan's Game Changer.

Vishwambhara OTT platform details

The previous report from OTTplay indicated that the producers were targeting a release date of May 9, 2025. However, there has been a minor adjustment, and the release date remains unconfirmed. This postponement is mainly attributed to the fact that the digital platform for the film has not yet been secured. The producers have set a high asking price, and both Prime Video and Netflix have expressed limited interest in obtaining the rights.

Recent information suggests that Zee5 is poised to acquire the digital rights for the film. UV Creations, the production company, has commenced negotiations with Zee5, and these discussions are nearing completion. Once an agreement on pricing is reached, the deal will be finalized. The producers anticipate a significant sum from the OTT arrangement, which is the reason for the delay in finalizing the release date.

Zee5 has been diligently securing Telugu films, having acquired the OTT rights for Venkatesh’s successful movie Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, which is anticipated to be available for streaming in the second week of February 2025.

In a different development, the post-production phase for Vishwambhara is progressing rapidly, with visual effects being managed across several countries. The first teaser garnered a mixed response, leading the team to make further enhancements. Significantly, director Nag Ashwin has intervened with recommendations, liaising with the VFX team responsible for his acclaimed film Kalki 2898 AD.

With things slowly getting back on track, it remains to be seen when the makers will lock the final release date. Given Zee5’s involvement, the platform will likely play a role in determining the film’s release window. Will Vishwambhara hit screens this summer? Stay tuned for more updates.
