Vishwambhara is the latest film by Chiranjeevi, which has been under development for more than a year. Initially scheduled for release during Sankranthi 2025, the fantasy drama has been delayed due to ongoing post-production efforts, allowing Ram Charan's Game Changer to take its place in the release schedule.

Vishwambhara VFX work leaves makers in losses

A brief teaser that was released several months ago received a negative response from many viewers, leading to significant criticism of the visual effects. This reaction displeased Chiranjeevi, prompting him to request a complete overhaul of the VFX. Consequently, this has delayed the announcement of Vishwambhara's release date.

Currently, it has been reported that the VFX work for the film is approaching completion, and intriguing details about the project have emerged. The revised visual effects have incurred an additional cost of Rs 75 crore for the producers. This substantial expenditure is equivalent to the budget of two low-budget films featuring well-known stars.

Vishwambhara OTT deal update

Chiranjeevi was determined to engage a new VFX company for the film after reviewing the initial results. This decision is also a contributing factor to the high financial expectations for the film's OTT deal, as the producers aim to recoup a significant portion of the budget.

This situation has led to complications for the film, particularly as major platforms like Netflix and Amazon, which were initially interested in acquiring the digital rights, have unexpectedly withdrawn. Consequently, this has caused delays in the film's release, much to the disappointment of the dedicated fanbase.

Nevertheless, Chiranjeevi and his team remain resolute and have chosen not to finalize the film's release date until the VFX work is completed to their satisfaction. Trisha Krishnan stars as the female lead, marking her second collaboration with Chiranjeevi following their successful film, Stalin.

Vassishta, the director renowned for the blockbuster film Bimbisara featuring Kalyan Ram of Patas fame, is at the helm of the project. He expresses confidence that the film is progressing positively and will captivate audiences, despite experiencing delays.
