Chhaava box office collection day 13:Over the last 13 days, we have been meticulously monitoring the box office performance of Vicky Kaushal's film, Chhaava, both in domestic and international markets. The film's anticipation had been steadily increasing for several months, a trend that was only amplified by the release of its teaser and trailer. The postponement of its release from December 2024 to February 2025, due to its competition with Pushpa 2: The Rule, further fueled the excitement among fans and film enthusiasts, who are now eager to witness the film in theaters.

As Chhaava reaches the 13-day mark at the box office, preliminary reports indicate that it is on the brink of exceeding ₹400 crore, potentially surpassing Padmaavat to claim the title of the highest-grossing period drama in history.

Chhaava Box Office Update

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Pictures, Chhaava chronicles the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, who reigned from 1681 to 1689. The film is presented on an expansive scale and features Rashmika Mandanna in the role of Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta portraying Sambhaji Maharaj's stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film premiered in India on February 14, 2025.

The film featuring Vicky Kaushal, which premiered almost two weeks ago, is maintaining remarkable box office performance. As reported by Sacnilk, on the 13th day of its release, the movie generated a net income of ₹23 crore in India, resulting in an impressive total domestic collection of ₹386.25 crore net. Even in its second week, Chhaava has reliably garnered more than ₹20 crore daily during weekdays. Should it achieve another day with earnings exceeding ₹20 crore, it will surpass the ₹400 crore mark tomorrow, establishing a new benchmark.

Set to Beat Padmaavat Worldwide

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, featuring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh, achieved remarkable success at the box office. In 2018, the film generated ₹546 crore in global earnings, establishing itself as the highest-grossing period drama in India. Nevertheless, recent reports indicate that Chhaava has already exceeded the ₹500 crore threshold worldwide and is poised to overtake Padmaavat, potentially earning the distinction of the highest-grossing period drama in Indian cinema history.

Chhaava Declared Tax-Free in Chhattisgarh

Chhaava has been officially designated as tax-free in Chhattisgarh. On February 26, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced this decision, emphasizing that "Chhaava is not merely a film; it serves as a tribute to our historical traditions, valor, and dignity. It is essential for every citizen to view it in order to appreciate the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj." The film has previously received tax-exempt status in both Madhya Pradesh and Goa. As Chhaava nears the conclusion of its second week, it will be intriguing to observe its potential performance at the box office.
