Actor Rashmika Mandanna unveiled her first look as Maharani Yesubai from her upcoming film Chhaava. On Tuesday, Maddock Films and Rashmika shared the reveal through a joint Instagram post.

The posters feature Rashmika Mandanna draped in a saree and adorned with heavy jewellery. In the first poster, she covers her head and smiles gracefully, while in the second, she sports a stern, intense expression.

The post was captioned, “Behind every great king, there stands a queen of unmatched strength. Introducing @rashmika_mandanna as Maharani Yesubai – the pride of Swarajya. #ChhaavaTrailer is out tomorrow! Releasing in cinemas on 14th February 2025.”

About Chhaava

The period drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, is set to release in theatres on February 14 this year. Vicky will portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna will play Maharani Yesubai, the wife of the Maratha ruler and the revered Chatrapati Maharani of the Maratha Kingdom.

Produced by Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also features Akshaye Khanna. Chhaava is described as a "stirring tale of a courageous warrior whose coronation in 1681 marked the beginning of a legendary reign." The trailer is scheduled to be released on Wednesday.

Recently, Vicky Kaushal was honoured as the Youth Icon of 2024 at CNN-News18's Indian of the Year Awards. During his speech, he shared his initial thoughts about taking on the role.

"The first feeling was, 'Will I be able to do justice to such an incredible legacy?' But that’s also what excites me the most. Playing a great man like Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is a beautiful opportunity to explore their culture, history, values, beliefs, and immense love for the country," Vicky said.
