Chhaava Advance Booking Day 1: Although cinema enthusiasts currently enjoy a wide array of films, a significant change is anticipated as a considerable audience is expected to converge for one much-anticipated release this week—Chhaava. Starring Vicky Kaushal, this film has created considerable pre-release excitement, which is likely to result in remarkable attendance and substantial box-office earnings. The bookings, already indicative of this enthusiasm, have surpassed the ₹10 crore mark for Day 1.
Chhaava Advance Booking Update
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Pictures, Chhaava is inspired by the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, who reigned from 1681 to 1689. The film is presented on an impressive scale and features Rashmika Mandanna in the role of Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta as Sambhaji Maharaj’s stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna portraying Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Recent poster releases have heightened anticipation for the trailer, which debuted on January 22, 2025.
As reported by Sacnilk, the film's advance ticket sales have matched the vigour of its promotional efforts. Chhaava has already secured over 318,000 tickets for more than 11,133 screenings nationwide, generating approximately ₹8.88 crore for its opening day—excluding reserved seats. When accounting for these reserved seats, the total revenue rises to ₹10.82 crore, with Maharashtra being the largest contributor, responsible for ₹5.67 crore in advance sales.

Chhaava, CBFC Cuts, and Certification
Chhaava has received a U/A 16+ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), following several modifications. Specific dialogues were revised, such as the alteration of “Mughal sultanat ka zehar” (The poison of the Mughal Sultanate) to “Uss samay, kayi shaasak aur sultanat khud ko zinda rakhne ki koshish kar rahe the” (At that time, many rulers and sultanates were attempting to survive). In a similar vein, the phrase “Khoon toh aakhir Mughalon ka hi hai” (After all, the blood is that of the Mughals) was modified to “Khoon toh hai Aurang ka hi” (After all, the blood is Aurangzeb’s).

Changes made to the content included softening terms such as haramzaada and substituting “Aameen” with “Jai Bhavani.” The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) also mandated the elimination of a scene featuring Maratha warriors in sarees and requested modifications to various dialogues. Additionally, numerical references within the script were altered: “14 saal” was revised to “16 saal,” “24 saal ka ladka” was changed to “22 saal ka ladka,” and “9 saal” was updated to “kayi saal.”
Chhaava is scheduled for theatrical release on February 14, 2025. For further updates on this film and other streaming content, please stay connected with Mobile Masala.
