Pratim D Gupta is back with a Bengali film after years. This time he is all set to bring a thriller Chaalchitro – The Frame Fatale, also written by him, to captivate audiences this Christmas. The film’s teaser was launched on Mahalaya and offers a sneak peek into the world of endless thrills.  

Chaalchitro — The Frame Fatale brings production house Friends Communication and Pratim back together after Shaheb Bibi Golaam. The new film delves into the lives of four cops from Kolkata Police’s Detective Department, as they go about investigating a series of murders rocking the city. As the plot thickens, the personal lives of these four policemen also get stressed and squeezed by the ongoing turmoil.  

The 40-second teaser is filled with a flurry of images from the film, offering a striking glimpse into the gripping narrative set in Kolkata. Dealing with themes like revenge, retribution, and resurrection, Chaalchitro aims to deliver a rivetting blend of visceral action and emotional appeal.  

The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring TotaRoy Choudhury, Shantanu Maheshwari, Anirban Chakrabarti, Md. Ziaul Faruque Apurba, Raima Sen, Priya Banerjee, Swastika Dutta, Tanika Basu and Indrajeet Bose. It also has an accomplished crew including music director Debojyoti Mishra, editor Antara Lahiri, National Award winners Sabarni Das (Costume Designer), Ananda Addhya (Art Director), and Anindit Roy (Sound Mix).  

Pratim said, “There’s so much content these days in all sizes and shapes and a large chunk of that is thrillers. So, to make a thriller today is hugely challenging, and not playing it safe. With Chaalchitro, I am again trying to push the envelope in the thriller space and ferry audiences on an all-new rollercoaster ride. Today with the teaser launch on the auspicious day of Mahalaya, as MaaDurga begins her journey to her home, we begin our journey of Chaalchitro to everyone’s hearts.”  

Produced by Friends Communication, Chaalchitro – The Frame Fatale will be released on December 20.
