In August of the previous year, Century Star Shivarajkumar first spoke about his recent health issue, indicating that he was receiving treatment. Although there were speculations within the industry regarding a cancer diagnosis, he did not confirm these rumors until he disclosed that he was undergoing chemotherapy. It was only after he progressed to the next phase of his treatment—surgery performed in Miami—and returned to India that both Shivarajkumar and his steadfast supporter, his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar, began to openly share the details of his experience.

Shivarajkumar's cancer treatment documentary to create awareness and allay fears

The couple has announced that Shivarajkumar's journey through cancer will be presented as a documentary. In a conversation with Tv9 Kannada, Shivarajkumar mentioned that his medical team in the United States recommended documenting his treatment process, which included six surgical procedures and subsequent post-operative care. This documentation aims to provide public awareness, instill hope, and dispel fears among individuals facing similar challenges.

Recently, Shivarajkumar disclosed that his health issues began in March or April of 2024 during a visit to Mookambika, where he observed a concerning discoloration in his urine resembling blood. Upon returning to Bengaluru, he underwent several surgeries to address the initial problem. However, as the condition progressed to involve the muscle of his bladder, additional treatments were necessary, including chemotherapy and surgery to remove the affected organ.

In Miami, physicians excised the bladder and constructed a new one utilizing segments of the small intestine. This newly formed organ, referred to as a neo-bladder, requires an adjustment period as its functionality develops, with its holding capacity progressively increasing from approximately 200 ml initially to 600 ml after several months. Shivarajkumar, who was released from the hospital five days post-surgery, had to manage several tubes and pouches for a few additional weeks. He will provide audiences with insights into how he was able to take walks in and around the hotel where they were accommodated.
