Anthony Mackie's debut as a solo lead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Brave New World, isn't exactly winning over critics. Set to hit theaters on February 14, the film currently holds a 52% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 124 reviews. That puts it as the third-lowest-rated movie in the MCU lineup.
Captain America: Brave New World has its Rotten Tomatoes rating
MCU has been struggling since the release of Avengers: Endgame back in 2019. The movies that followed didn’t really resonate with fans or critics. The only standout has been 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, which surprisingly raked in $211 million in the US, even with its R-rating.
As for Captain America: Brave New World, its score is just a notch above Eternals, which sits at 47%, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is at 46%. Once it premieres, we’ll have to wait and see if it can boost its rating on Popcornmeter, the audience score tracker. Eternals has a Popcornmeter rating of 77%, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania holds an 81%.
