If there is one thing that has held us all by a chokehold right now, it is the new teaser trailer of Captain America: Brave New World that was released yesterday. Fans have been busy obsessing over the trailer that stars Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford in the lead. The movie has been the talk of the town for a long time now, and this first gateway into the world of Brave New World is indeed a massive leap. Nerds have been dissecting the trailer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie for almost a day now. They have discovered the Eternals connection, the visuals of the killed Celestial, and the changed character arcs. But nothing even comes close to the chatter on the internet around Red Hulk. Yes, we have the first glimpse of the Red Hulk, and we cannot stop talking about it.

If you are uninitiated, the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond Avengers: Endgame has been more about the evolution of the recurring superheroes and the introduction of the new. The studio has taken special efforts in introducing anti-heroes in the Multiverse Saga, and we have seen multiple projects about them. Now, as they move forward, they have introduced Red Hulk in the teaser of Captain America: Brave New World. The rumors had always been on the rise, and this confirmation has come as great news. But who is Red Hulk? Let's dive into it.

Who Turns Into Red Hulk?

The biggest highlight of Captain America: Brave New World teaser trailer was the introduction of Harrison Ford as Ross, who is now the US President in the film. His journey, if you remember, started with The Incredible Hulk, where his entire presence was about creating new super soldiers. This also led to him turning Emil Blonsky into Abomination. He returns years later in Captain America: Civil War, where he became the US Secretary Of State and was the man behind putting Steve Rogers’ allies in the prison in The Raft.

But when he couldn't capture Black Widow, he made a very brief appearance in Avengers: Infinity War and later was seen at Tony Stark aka Iron Man’s funeral in Avengers: Endgame. Turns out now he is back in Captain America: Brave New World, where he is even stronger, and there is no way anyone is safe with him around. But, wait, did we tell you it's him who changes into Red Hulk? Well, yes.

How Does Ross Become Red Hulk?

Like it is said, you become what you hate. Ross hates Bruce Banner and his Hulk. When he decides to make gamma-powered super soldiers, he is approached by M.O.D.O.K and The Leader with an offer to bring his dead daughter back. Using the radiation, they turn Ross into a deadly Red Hulk. It will be interesting to see how the makers of Captain America: Brave New World decide to portray his transition and motives to become Red Hulk. With Ross now being the President, there are high chances that the storyline changes completely.

Red Hulk’s Powers

Red Hulk is an updated version of Bruce Banner’s Hulk. Super strength is something that comes in handy to both. But Red Hulk is definitely more advanced when it comes to the other things. He doesn't lose his intelligence after transformation and is able to absorb energy. He becomes bloodthirsty once he is turned into Red Hulk. What is frightening is the fact that the angrier he becomes, the more heat his body generates. And that is not all; he can even use a crude form of heat vision.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit the big screen on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
