Finally, CID fans can celebrate as the makers revealed the release date of the second season. Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Dayanand Shetty as ACP Pradyuman and Inspectors Abhijeet and Daya are all set to return with the new season. The makers also shared a fascinating trailer on their social media accounts.

CID 2 release date announced

Sony Entertainment Television has shared a trailer of CID 2 along with the much-awaited release date. They announced that the new season will be available from December 21 on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 p.m. 

The trailer shows Inspector Daya breaking a door to catch the criminals. His much-loved character was introduced in the captivating trailer.

Sharing the video, they captioned it, "Apraadhi chahe kitne bhi darwaze band kar lein, Daya se nahi bachenge! Dekhiye #CID 21st December se, Sat-Sun raat 10 baje, sirf #SonyEntertainmentTelevision par."

Meanwhile, CID 2 will also be available on SonyLIV and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription too. 

Fans react to CID 2 release date

Reacting to the post, fans have flooded the comments section with their happy messages. One user wrote, "And they are back. They have brought our childhood back (sic)." Another commented, "I cannot wait for the show. CID was our favourite show and we are glad the channel has introduced another action-packed season. Six years was way too long. I am shedding happy tears."

What's new in CID 2?

As per Filmibeat, "The programming team has planned a grand launch for CID 2, giving it the weekend slot of 10pm. The show will be competing with Anupamaa, Bigg Boss 18 on rival channels. The leading GEC is confident that CID 2 will bring back the lost viewership on weekends."

The source also mentioned that the creative team has created buzz with the mind-boggling promo and the new storyline will definitely strike a chord with the audience.

For the uninitiated, CID started streaming on Sony TV in the year 1998. The show continued to entertain the audience till the year 2018. It became a cult classic and is still one of the most loved shows.
