Conversely, Yeom Jang-seon (Huh Joon-ho) serves as a law professor and is a former head of the intelligence service, wielding considerable influence in South Korean politics and manipulating events from behind the curtain. He is known for leveraging wealth and power to manipulate individuals as if they were puppets.

Nevertheless, the official synopsis of Buried Hearts emphasizes that a multinational corporation is under investigation following a contentious energy initiative, amidst accusations of mismanagement, embezzlement, corruption, and the mysterious disappearance of billions in government funds.
