After Premalu made waves at the box office last February, a fresh group of young stars in Bromance is eager to replicate that success this year. Premalu 2, featuring Naslen, has already been confirmed. With the ongoing trend of franchise films and sequels, could we see a follow-up to Arjun Ashokan's Bromance as well?

Arun D Jose talks about the follow-up to Bromance?

Bromance, featuring Arjun Ashokan and Mathew Thomas in the main roles alongside Mahima Nambiar, is set to release in theaters on February 14, 2025. In a chat with Cue Studio, director Arun D Jose was asked about the possibility of a sequel to this comedy flick.

He firmly said ‘no’. Sangeeth Prathap, who portrayed Amal Davis in Premalu, added, “No need to stress, it won’t pop up during the end credits.”

Arun D Jose dismissed any ideas about a spin-off, backstories, or additional movies, stating that the story wraps up with Bromance.

Cast of Bromance

Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas, Mahima Nambiar, Shyam Mohan, and Sangeeth Prathap take on the main roles in this film, which tells a story about brotherhood and friendship. Kalabhavan Shajohn and Binu Pappu also join the cast, with the screenplay crafted by Raveesh Nath and Thomas P Sebastian.

Fun fact: Shyam Mohan and Sangeeth Prathap were in Premalu and quickly gained fame after the Naslen-Mamitha Baiju movie hit theaters in February 2024. Mathew Thomas also made an appearance in Premalu, albeit in a brief cameo.

V-Day clash at the box office

Malayalam cinema is gearing up for a fun Valentine’s Day with three films hitting theaters on February 14, 2025. Bromance will go head-to-head with Antony Varghese Pepe's Daveed and the Sajin Gopu and Anaswara Rajan film, Painkili, this V-day. Interestingly, Mammootty's Bazooka was originally set to release on the same day but has now been pushed back to April 10, 2025. With the megastar stepping out of the V-day competition, it’s a great opportunity for the younger actors, and it’ll be exciting to see which film comes out on top at the box office.
