Box Office: Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan end as disasters, to see massive losses

Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan were aggressively promoted from the time they were released. Both films were released on August 15, 2024, and ended as massive disasters at the box office. Double Ismart was directed by Puri Jagannadh and had Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.
The pre-release business was done on a massive scale, and the action needed to make at least Rs 50 crore to be a safe zone. But sadly, the film's occupancy has fallen, and Double Ismart has not even made Rs 25 crore at the box office. Once again, post the debacle of Liger, Puri will face yet another disaster and as he is the producer, he will land in massive losses.
On the other hand, People Media Factor produced Mr. Bachchan on a budget of Rs 90 crore. As they sold the film's OTT rights for Rs 33 crore, they made some money before the release. But the Ravi Teja starrer had to make at least Rs 45 crore to be in the safe zone.
But it is also not likely to happen, and the makers will lose close to Rs 15 crore. Both these films had big stars and super hit songs and were promoted superbly. However, the silly content, horrible direction, and poor storyline in these films upset the audience in a big way.
Harish Shankar, in particular, is being trolled for spoiling a very good film like Raid, whose remake is Mr. Bachchan. He spoke so rudely to the press, trolled a few media people and now that the film is a flop, he is nowhere to be seen.
A small movie like Aay, with all new faces, has upset these biggies and is doing decent business in Telugu states. According to the latest update, both these films' digital rights are with Netflix, and they will land on OTT within a month of their release. Such is the sad state of these films, which have disappointed the audience big time.
