The Eid weekend promises to be a significant event for Indian cinema. Leading the charge at the box office will be L2: Empuraan, touted as the most expensive Malayalam film ever produced. This film, featuring Mohanlal, is being released on a pan-India scale. Following closely will be Salman Khan's Sikandar, which marks the superstar's return in a mass-action role. At a recent promotional event for Empuraan, director Prithviraj Sukumaran addressed the anticipated competition between the two films.

L2: Empuraan, helmed by Prithviraj, is set to debut on March 27, while Sikandar will premiere in theaters on March 30. During a recent press conference for his upcoming action thriller in Delhi, Prithviraj emphasized that there is "no competition" between the two films and expressed his hopes for Sikandar's success.

"Salman Khan is one of the leading stars in the nation, and there is no rivalry between our films. I wish it becomes a blockbuster," Prithviraj stated. "I have no issues if you choose to watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.," he added.

About Sikandar and Empuraan  

Sikandar is directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who is known for his successful Tamil and Hindi films such as Ghajini and Thuppakki. The project is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, marking a reunion with Salman Khan after their 2014 hit, Kick. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, and Kajal Aggarwal.

The Prithviraj-directed film, set to release on March 27, serves as a sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer. According to the trailer, the narrative centers around a socio-political drama, with Mohanlal's character at its core. The trailer showcases a gripping cinematic experience, highlighting Mohanlal's commanding presence as Khureshi-Ab'raam. The cast also includes Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Abhimanyu Singh.
