As this marks Salman's first major release in over a year, initial excitement for the film appeared to be subdued. The delayed unveiling of the trailer, which occurred just a week prior to the release, raised eyebrows. However, it now appears that interest in the film is gaining momentum. The ticket prices for Sikandar suggest a strong demand; in metropolitan areas, tickets are being sold for upwards of ₹2000, with some single-screen theatres offering recliner seats priced as high as ₹700.
Ticket prices for Sikandar exceed ₹2000
Advance ticket sales for the Salman Khan film commenced on Thursday. The booking platform BookMyShow made tickets available for nearly all theatres nationwide by Thursday evening. At Plaza Cinema in Dadar, Mumbai, the recliner seats are priced at an unusual ₹700 for a single-screen venue. While some view this as an indicator of high demand, others in the industry express concern that such pricing may deter audiences. Single-screen theatres typically cater to a mass audience that favors lower ticket prices. Nonetheless, this situation may be an exception, as most single screens in other regions, including Delhi's Delite, have tickets ranging from ₹90 to ₹200.
Multiplexes have already adopted premium pricing for their top-tier tickets. In Mumbai, multiplexes are offering 'director's cut' or 'luxe' tickets for as much as ₹2200, while in Delhi, prices range from ₹1600 to ₹1900. Remarkably, despite these elevated prices, many screenings in the Delhi-NCR area are already sold out. Additionally, standard multiplex seat prices have reached as high as ₹850-900 in several major cities.
Sikandar advance booking numbers
Sikandar has made an impressive debut in advance bookings, accumulating nearly ₹4 crore within the first 24 hours. With two full days remaining until its release, this figure is expected to increase significantly. As is typical with Salman Khan films, Sikandar is anticipated to experience substantial spot bookings in smaller markets, further boosting its day-one earnings. Presently, the film appears poised for a robust opening.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar features a cast that includes Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj. The film is set to be released globally on March 30.
