Fahadh Faasil and Srinda, who took on supporting roles, are facing some backlash for their performances. Fans of cinema are particularly let down by the character portrayed by the National Award-winning actor in Bougainvillea.

Fahadh Faasil's role in the film directed by Amal Neerad hasn't impressed many online. The National Award-winning actor took on the character of ACP David Koshy IPS, a police officer looking into the disappearance of a young woman. Fans of cinema believe that such a skilled actor was underutilized in a poorly developed role that didn’t allow him to showcase his talent. Plus, his repetitive scenes in the movie have frustrated viewers, leading to a wave of trolling on social media. 

A fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked, “What was Fahadh Faasil doing in Bougainvillea?” Meanwhile, a movie buff shared their thoughts in a review, questioning, “Why would Fahadh take on such a role?” They pointed out, “He started as an entertainer in Aavesham, then switched to comedy in Vettaiyyan, and now he’s playing a fool in Bougainvillea. And to top it off, he’s being called a clown in Pushpa 2... That’s Fahadh Faasil’s journey in 2024 summed up,” another fan chimed in.

Srinda faced some backlash for her performance in Bougainvillea.

Srinda, who portrayed Reethu’s maid Rema in the movie, is also facing some backlash for her performance during the climax. In a key moment, Rema goes after the villain, played by Kunchacko Boban, with a chair. The way the scene is set up feels a bit off, and it wraps up with the line: “Ivanokke ithre ullu chechi” (This is all it takes, sister). Now, people online are having a field day trolling Srinda for this scene, especially her delivery of that line.
