Border 2, the follow-up to JP Dutta's 1997 hit Border, is definitely one of the most anticipated movies out there. With Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan taking center stage, it's been buzzing in the news ever since it was announced, and fans can't get enough of the updates. The latest scoop is that filming is set to kick off in December.
Here's the latest on Border 2 shooting.
Border 2 is set to start filming on January 6 in Dehradun, according to Mid-Day. The report mentions that a former Army Major is not just helping Singh and Nidhi with their research but is also in charge of the film's styling, which highlights a part of the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The insider shared, “Designer Sheetal Sharma is handling the costumes, but the ex-Army Major is involved in approving everything related to them—from the research and references to the badges and uniforms, making sure they’re spot-on for the time period and ranks. His role goes beyond just the costumes.”
Nidhi is looking for his advice on the artillery used during the war and the military tactics that were implemented. She aims for the film to be as genuine as her dad's movie, Border.
According to a source, "Varun and Ahan completed their look tests this week, while Diljit’s is scheduled for after December 15. Sunny, who’s playing a Sardar again, will have his look test in the last week of December. The Major will be there for all the sessions."
Border 2 was set to hit theaters in November.
Originally, the film was supposed to start shooting on November 25 in Jammu and Kashmir, featuring a big action scene with Sunny, Diljit, and Varun. However, the plan has changed, and now they’ll kick things off in Dehradun with Varun. His scenes will showcase the transformation of a small-town guy into a soldier. This war drama will have the four main characters portraying officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and they’ll be filming in actual locations throughout northern India.
Border 2 is helmed by Anurag Singh, the director known for Kesari, and it's produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.
