At one point, Sunny Deol expressed his views on the dynamics of Bollywood, particularly how he felt marginalized to allow superstar Shah Rukh Khan to take the lead in Darr. Recently, his brother Bobby Deol shared his own experience of being unceremoniously removed from the cherished film Jab We Met. He recounted how Kareena Kapoor Khan initially turned down the project, and how he ultimately persuaded the producer to collaborate with Imtiaz Ali on the film. Here are all the surprising revelations that the actor disclosed.

Bobby Deol viewed a preliminary print of Jab We Met while Imtiaz was still in the process of developing Socha Na Tha alongside his cousin, actor Abhay Deol. It was during this time that Bobby leveraged his connections to persuade Imtiaz to create the film for him. "I made significant efforts to bring that film (Jab We Met) to fruition; I contacted numerous individuals," the actor shared with Instant Bollywood.

Bobby asserts that he was instrumental in bringing Ashtavinayak into the film project, despite the initial desire to collaborate with the actor and reluctance to finalize an agreement with the Rockstar director, Imtiaz. Nevertheless, Bobby urged them to consider Imtiaz, which ultimately led to his involvement in Jab We Met.

Bobby Deol was the initial person to reach out to Kareena Kapoor Khan regarding the film Jab We Met. He communicated with her via a mutual contact, but she declined the offer. Additionally, Preity Zinta was also considered for the role, but she also rejected the opportunity, indicating that she would be open to the project at a later time.

Ultimately, Bobby was removed from the project, which went on to become one of Bollywood's most cherished films. In his place, Kareena agreed to collaborate with Shahid Kapoor under the direction of Imtiaz and Ashtavinayak. "The industry can be challenging; I was quite disheartened by it at the time," Bobby reflected, while still supporting Imtiaz's decision.
