Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty has been making a name for himself in the Telugu film industry with films like Mugguru Monagallu, The Rose Villa and, of course, Dasara. After the success of Dasara, in which he played a pivotal role along with leading man Nani, Dheekshith was keen to take his Kannada movies also to audiences there and capitalize on his new-found popularity.

Dheekshith Shetty's Blink Telugu OTT release

As a first step in this direction, Dheekshith has now made his most recent release, Blink, available for Telugu audiences. The film, which was released in theatres in early March and subsequently found its way on to OTT, can now be streamed with Telugu audio. As of August 12, Blink can be streamed in Telugu on Amazon Prime Video.

Directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, Blink follows Dheekshith’s character Apurva, a young man doing sundry jobs while also trying to figure out how to clear the exams he flunked and aim for a better tomorrow. Apurva, who lives away from his family in Bengaluru, finds his biggest support system in his girlfriend. All is well for him until he comes across an elderly gentleman, Arivu, who claims to have information about Apurva’s father, who’d walked out on the family years ago.

Why is Arivu invested in Apurva? What does Apurva find out in his quest to find answers about his father? These are some of the questions that Blink addresses. The film also stars Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Vajradheer Jain, Chaithra J Achar, Suresh Anagalli, and Mandara Battalahalli, among others. The film’s biggest highlight is that Srinidhi has incorporated elements of science fiction and time travel as well as the Oedipus complex in his narrative.

Dheekshith, who was last seen in Kannada in Blink, has a few films lined up, like, Sheegrameva Kalyana Praptirastu, Strawberry and Bank of Bhagyalakshmi. In Telugu, the actor will be seen in The Girlfriend, as well as KJQ. He is also set to make his Malayalam film debut with Oppees.
