It was previously announced that actor Dhruv Vikram is set to work with filmmaker Mari Selvaraj on a project entitled 'Bison'. On Friday, the production team unveiled the initial look of the film, which is categorized as a sports drama.

Bison first look out: Dhruv Vikram stars in Mari Selvaraj film

Actor Dhruv Vikram, the son of renowned actor Vikram, who was recently featured in Mahaan alongside his father, is collaborating with director Mari Selvaraj for the first time. The film, titled Bison, unveiled its first look poster on Friday in celebration of Mari Selvaraj’s birthday.

The poster presents Dhruv Vikram with his hands resting on his hips, accompanied by another image of him perched on his toes. Behind him are the striking horns of a bull, depicted in shades of red. This film is set to be a sports drama centered around kabaddi and will also feature actress Anupama Parameswaran in the leading female role. This project marks the inaugural collaboration between Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram.

Although Bison was announced several years ago, the film's production was delayed as Mari Selvaraj took on projects with Dhanush in Karnan and Udhayanidhi and Vadivelu in Maamannan. Following the release of Mari Selvaraj’s Vaazhai, the director commenced work on this sports drama with Dhruv Vikram.

Anupama Parameswaran, who was recently featured in Dragon, will assume a significant role in the upcoming film, sharing the screen with notable actors such as Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, and Aruvi Madhan, among others. The project is being produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions. This film represents the second partnership between Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj following their previous work on Pariyerum Perumal.

Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for Bison. The film's release date has not yet been disclosed by the producers. The technical team includes Nivas K Prasanna, who is responsible for the musical score, and Ezhil Arasu, who is handling the cinematography. The editing of the film is being managed by Sakthi Thiru.
