Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar's romantic comedy, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, was recently released in theaters. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film premiered on February 21, 2025, and features Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh in prominent roles. Unfortunately, the movie did not perform well at the box office. In a recent interview, Bhumi addressed the film's lack of commercial success, noting that a segment of the audience had positive feedback regarding Mere Husband Ki Biwi.

Bhumi Pednekar on Mere Husband Ki Biwi box office failure

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Bhumi Pednekar shared her thoughts on the modest box office performance of Mere Husband Ki Biwi. She stated, "We put forth our best efforts, and those who have attended the screenings seem to enjoy the film. I am content as long as viewers find something relatable in it. Our aim was to create an entertaining experience for casual moviegoers, and if we have achieved that, it is sufficient."

The actress from B-Town expressed her desire for the tradition of 'word-of-mouth' films to persist. Pednekar mentioned that her presence in the industry would not have been possible without such films, emphasizing that all her projects have been driven by word-of-mouth promotion.

During the same discussion, Bhumi shared her perspective on participating in films featuring two female leads. Identifying herself as a 'secure' actor, she revealed her enjoyment in working on these projects. "I truly had the most enjoyable experiences in films that include another strong female role, as we, as women, inherently understand one another," Bhumi remarked.
