Bharathanatyam: Trailer of Saiju Kurup’s film is all about a self-assured jobless man, his family

The makers of upcoming Malayalam film, Bharathanatyam, released its trailer today (August 10), days ahead of its theatrical release. August 23 marks the theatrical release of Bharathanatyam, Saiju Kurup's first production.

The film's humorous storyline and main characters are hinted at in this one minute and fifty-eight-second clip. Saiju plays Sasi, an optimistic but unemployed man who is frequently taunted by his relatives for lacking practical choices in life. He is seen to be at odds with another man, portrayed by Abhiram, though. It is unclear why they are at odds with each other. Overall, the teaser suggests a wild and hilarious treat for moviegoers in theatres.

All about Bharathanatyam

The film was announced in the beginning of this year. The newly released poster features the two lead actors, Saiju and Saikumar, looking up while everyone else is facing forward. With this film, director Krishnadas Murali, who penned the script, makes his directorial debut.

Additionally, in supporting roles in the film are Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Divya M Nair, Sruthy Suresh, Nandu Pothuval, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sohan Seenulal, and Manikandan Pattambi. This film is being produced by Saiju Kurup Entertainments and Thomas Thiruvalla Films, with funding from Lini Mariam David and Anupama B Nambiar. Bharathanatyam's original soundtracks and score were composed by Samuel Aby.

If released on the said date, the film will be running in theatres with Meera Jasmine’s Paalum Pazhavum, Indrajith Sukumaran-starrer Mr. & Mrs. Bachelor and Bhavana’s horror thriller, Hunt.

Saiju Kurup’s other films in 2024

The horror drama Gu, the actor's most recent theatrical release, is getting positive reviews from audiences. The next film starring Saiju is Porattu Naadakam, which was originally slated to open in theatres on August 9 but was delayed for unknown reasons. In addition, he is appearing in a prominent role in four upcoming films: Nunakuzhi, Cop Uncle, Bad Boyz, and Kaalante Tangakudam. Anand Sreebala, another movie featuring Saiju, is also anticipated to be released soon.
