Bharathanatyam: Saiju Kurup’s film postponed due to multiple Malayalam releases this week?

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Bharathanatyam, have revealed an update on its theatrical release date. Saiju Kurup's maiden production, which was earlier slated to hit the big screens on August 23, is now postponed to August 30.

Bharathanatyam postponed due to August 30

The makers of the Saiju Kurup film unveiled a new poster along with a revised release date. Presumably, the film's release date has been delayed because of the release of four other movies on August 23. If the movie is released on the same date, it would be shown in theatres with Bhavana's horror thriller Hunt, Indrajith Sukumaran's Mr. & Mrs. Bachelor, and Meera Jasmine's Paalum Pazhavum. In the meantime, the September release date of Vineeth Sreenivasan's comedy drama Oru Jaathi Jathakam has also been pushed. August 22 was also scheduled as the film's theatrical premiere.

What is Bharathanatyam all about?

The teaser hints at the funny plot and primary characters of the film. Saiju portrays Sasi, a cheerful but jobless man who is often made fun of by his family for not having made any sensible decisions in life. However, it appears that he is at odds with another man, who is represented by Abhiram. Why they disagree with one another is unclear. All in all, the teaser promises spectators in theatres an outrageous and amusing experience.

The movie was revealed at the start of the year. The two principal actors, Saiju and Saikumar, are shown in the recently published poster looking up while everyone else is staring ahead. The script was written by filmmaker Krishnadas Murali, who makes his directorial debut with this movie.

Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Divya M Nair, Sruthy Suresh, Nandu Pothuval, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sohan Seenulal, and Manikandan Pattambi also have supporting parts in the movie. Lini Mariam David and Anupama B Nambiar are providing financial support under Saiju Kurup Entertainments and Thomas Thiruvalla Films. Samuel Aby composed the original sounds and score for Bharathanatyam.
