Kamal Haasan's much-anticipated action drama, Bharateeyudu 2 (Indian 2), is set to make its digital debut on Netflix on August 9th, 2024. The S. Shankar-directed sequel to the 1996 hit Indian has been generating buzz since its theatrical release on July 12th.

The film received positive reviews, particularly for its first half, prompting the filmmakers to trim 20 minutes from the original runtime to create a more concise viewing experience. The edited version now clocks in at 2 hours and 40 minutes, making it more accessible for audiences.

Netflix, which acquired the streaming rights for a substantial sum, announced the streaming date with a new poster featuring Kamal Haasan's iconic character Senapathy. The tagline, "Buckle up. Indian Thatha is back to take on the system again," promises a thrilling and impactful experience for viewers. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, with the Hindi version to follow at a later date.

Bharateeyudu 2 continues the story of Senapathy, who returns to India to fight corruption head-on. The plot revolves around a group of friends who use social media to expose corrupt politicians and call upon Senapathy to bring about change in the country.

The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Kamal Haasan reprising his iconic role after over two decades. Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, S. J. Suryah, and Vivek round out the cast as supporting characters, adding depth and intrigue to the action-packed narrative.
