Radhika Kumaraswamy’s first release in a couple of years is Bhairadevi, a horror flick in which she plays an aghori and is tasked with handling a case of evil spirit possessions. The film, written and directed by Shrijai, has been produced by Radhika and has Ramesh Aravind in the role of a senior police officer.
Ahead of the film’s theatrical release on October 3, the team dropped the trailer of the film, wherein Radhika, as an aghori, is called to solve the issue of strange, unexplained occurrences in the home of Ramesh Aravind’s character. The actress has been quoted as saying that shooting for her sequences, with the elaborate makeup and hairdo as an aghori, while also smoking on a chillum, was quite challenging for her. The film was also quite action-packed for the actress, if the trailer is anything to go by.
Recently, on the occasion of Ramesh Aravind’s birthday, the actor had spoken about his 4 upcoming films, and called out Bhairadevi as special, as despite being a horror film, it is a family-based subject, which was the clincher for him. He is paired with Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee in the film.
Bhairadevi also stars Rangayana Raghu, Ravishankar, Skanda Ashok, Anu Mukherjee, Malavika Avinash, and Suchendra Prasad, with music by KK Senthil Prasad and cinematography by JS Wali. The film will be released in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, with the cast stating that they shot each sequence thrice for each of these languages. Bhairadevi is Radhika’s third production venture after Lucky, starring Yash and Ramya and Sweety Nanna Jodi.
Meanwhile, Radhika’s next as an actor and producer is Ajagrata, a Kannada-Telugu bilingual, which brings Hindi actor Shreyas Talpade to Sandalwood. The film also stars Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Adithya Menon, Devraj, Sparsha Rekha, Raghavendra Shravan, Vinaya Prasad, Chitra Chenoy, Ramesh Bhat and Suchendra Prasad, among others.
