Mohanlal's admirers likely commenced their day with two thrilling updates circulating on social media. One pertains to the new appearance of the L2: Empuraan star that has garnered attention, while the other involves a highly anticipated collaboration between Mohanlal and Basil Joseph.

It is important to clarify that the speculation does not suggest Basil will be directing Mohanlal. Although the actor-director has expressed intentions to work on projects with the esteemed actor, the current rumor concerns the partnership of the Ponman and Pravinkoodu Shappu artist with the superstar in the forthcoming film Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad.

No Basil Joseph in Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam

Fans were already excited by the prospect following a viral tweet, with many suggesting that this collaboration would create a refreshing on-screen duo. However, when OTTplay contacted Anoop Sathyan, who is part of his father's film crew, he refuted the casting rumors.

"That’s news to me. We are finalizing the script, and at this moment, there is no role for Basil," he stated. This aligns with Basil's previous comments, where he indicated his intention to pause acting projects after Marana Mass to concentrate on his upcoming directorial endeavors.

‘Malavika Mohananan and Sangita play the female leads’

Anoop also disclosed the confirmed cast for Hridayapoorvam, which features Malavika Mohanan, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, Nishan, and Lalu Alex. "Malavika and Sangita will portray the female leads. We aim to commence filming on March 10, which explains Mohanlal's new look. He will not have a beard in this film," Anoop explained.

When asked about the film's genre and storyline, he remarked, "It’s too early to disclose those details. All I can share is that it will be an enhanced Sathyan Anthikad film."
