Mohanlal’s directorial, Barroz, is among Malayalam’s highly-anticipated films of 2024. The 3D fantasy film, which was delayed multiple times due to various reasons, is slated to hit the theatres on September 12. According to current reports, the movie's trailer will be unveiled on September 6 at an event that will take place in Abu Dhabi. Fans of the Malayalam superstar are greatly relieved to see the new update, as they had been eagerly awaiting word on the film. They are also eager to see the trailer so they can learn more about the cast and story.

Barroz 3D to release in Onam season

As was previously mentioned, Barroz had a different star cast when it first began in 2021, right after the pandemic's first wave. Numerous well-known Malayalam actors, such as the late Pratap Pothen and Prithviraj Sukumaran, were expected to have important roles in the movie. The second pandemic wave, however, caused further delays for the Mohanlal-directed film.

Subsequently, the director made the decision to abandon the already-shot scenes and begin the filming over with a new cast. Barroz was originally scheduled to premiere on March 28, but post-production work took longer than expected, so the film's release date was extended. The makers recently confirmed that it would be an Onam release.

After more than four decades in the film industry as an actor, the Malayalam superstar made the decision to give filmmaking a try. In the recently released poster, Mohanlal has a new appearance with a long hairstyle and a thick beard. The director-actor is pictured posing with a cute little girl wearing a multicoloured gown in the European style. The latest poster additionally validates the possibility of multiple looks for Mohanlal and the other actors in the movie.

Barroz, backed by Antony Perumbavoor, is allegedly made on a Rs 100 crore budget using cutting-edge technology. According to sources, Mohanlal plays a 300-year-old guardian ghost in the movie that keeps an eye on Vasco D'Gama's treasure.
