Almost a year after its theatrical release, Tamannaah Bhatia’s Malayalam debut film Bandra could finally drop on OTT. As per reports, the producers of the Dileep-starrer have sold the OTT rights of the big-budget film, which contrary to expectations was a box-office bomb.

Bandra, which marked director Arun Gopy’s second collaboration with Dileep after their superhit Ramaleela, had a bevy of stars including Sharathkumar, Dino Morea, Samuthirakani, Lena and Mamta Mohandas apart from its lead actors.

Bandra OTT release date

While it’s yet to be officially revealed that Amazon Prime Video has indeed bagged the OTT rights of Bandra, all signs point to the platform gearing up for its release. This is because Ajith Vinayaka Films, which had also produced Gaganachari, had backed the Dileep film.

Gaganachari released on Amazon Prime Video on October 26, without much hype, and it’s speculated that the producers had bundled Bandra as part of the negotiations. Bandra is also expected to drop on the platform in November, the same way Gaganachari did.

Tamannaah played the role of a Bollywood actress named Tara Janaki in Bandra, which revolved around an aspiring director probing the real cause of the former’s death and how it’s linked to her relationship with the character played by Dileep.

Dileep’s films, especially post pandemic, have been finding it hard to land OTT deals, with their box-office performance making it even more challenging. His latest release, Pavi Caretaker, had released on Manorama Max, but Thankamani is yet to lock its OTT partner.

Dileep’s upcoming movies

Dileep, meanwhile, has two Malayalam movies gearing up for release. The first will be Prince and Family, which is touted to be a family entertainer. The movie, helmed by Binto Stephen and also has Dhyan Sreenivasan as part of the cast, is written by Jana Gana Mana and Malayalee from India scribe Sharis Mohammed.

The actor is also part of a big-budget film titled Bha. Bha. Bha, which has him teaming up with both Vineeth and Dhyan Sreenivasan. The shoot of the film is currently progressing in Tamil Nadu.
