The film, also starring Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk released in the theatres on July 19 and has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences. After starting its box office journey with Rs. 8.3 crore, the film saw a jump on Saturday.

The film witnessed around 16 per cent growth on its first Saturday, July 20. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bad Newz earned Rs. 9.75 crore on Saturday, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 18.05 crore within two days.

The film saw maximum footfalls coming from the night shows with the overall Hindi occupancy of 26.81 per cent. The film is expected to keep up with its outstanding performance even on Sunday and might touch Rs. 30 crore by the end of its first weekend. The good news for the film is that it is not facing any major competition at the box office as it was a solo release on Friday.

More about Bad Newz

Bad Newz stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the lead roles with a cameo appearance by Ananya Pandey and Neha Sharma. The film also stars Neha Dhupia in a pivotal role. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is co-produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Anand Tiwari, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra.

The comedy-drama seems to be a successor to the 2019 hit Good Newzz, starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.
