Anand Tiwari on Bad Newz's box office failure

In an interview with India Today, filmmaker Anand Tiwari opened up about Bad Newz's box office failure.

"I never expected any numbers. I don't have it in me to play this number game. There are other people more qualified than me who can do it. All I wanted was for the audience to love the film because we made it out of love ourselves. To get that kind of love, and people resonating with the songs, dance, and the comedy, that's just great for me," Anand said.

Anand Tiwari discusses OTT medium

He also opened up about the OTT medium and discussed how content is consumed with greater intensity today. He added that OTT combines the community experience of cinema with the personal viewing aspect of television.

As per him, it has really democratized content watching. He feels proud that he and Amritpal Singh Bindra) were the first ones to venture into the space.

"Be it Band Bajaa Baraat, Love Per Square Foot to Maja Maa, the first digital film for Amazon Prime. We have learnt so much on the way, and while things have changed a bit, the hunger for good content remains the same," Tiwari shared.
