The cast and characters of Baby John

Baby John features Varun Dhawan as DCP Satya Verma IPS, also known as Baby John, alongside Keerthy Suresh as his wife, Meera Verma. Their daughter, Khushi Verma, is played by Zara Zyanna, and Wamiqa Gabbi takes on the role of Khushi's teacher. Jackie Shroff appears as Babbar Sher, while Rajpal Yadav plays Head Constable Ram Sevak. B. S. Avinash has a supporting role, and Sheeba Chaddha plays Satya's mother. The film also includes cameos from Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra, who portrays Satya's potential bride.

 

Plot Overview of "Baby John": A Tale of Revenge and Protection

In the movie, DCP Satya Verma IPS kills Babbar Sher's son over a serious crime, which sparks a fierce power struggle between them. This conflict leads to Babbar wreaking havoc on Satya's family. The only survivor, Satya's daughter Khushi, escapes, prompting Satya to fake his own death so they can start fresh in Kerala under the name Baby John. As Satya seeks revenge on Babbar Sher, he also has to protect Khushi when she threatens to disrupt their peaceful life after discovering he's alive.

In a chat with India Today, Dhawan explained why Atlee chose to take on this project, highlighting that the director had to significantly alter the film's setting. It can't just be a straightforward remake; they needed to make some adjustments. The actor feels they've successfully achieved that.

He also pointed out that Baby John sheds light on real issues regarding women's safety in India and provides a contemporary take on parenting.
