Azaad serves as the acting debut for Raveena Tandon's daughter, Rasha Thadani, and Ajay Devgn's nephew, Aaman Devgan. The film features Ajay in a significant role as well. This period drama was released in theaters on January 17, 2025, and is now preparing for its debut on an OTT platform. Netflix has announced the OTT release date of Azaad through their Instagram account.

On March 13, Netflix India took to their Instagram account and dropped a poster of Azaad. They wrote, "Bahaduri, wafadaari, aur jung aazadi ki Watch Azaad on Netflix, out 14 March #AzaadOnNetflix."

Azaad takes place in India during the 1920s, where a young stable boy forms a deep connection with a horse named Azaad. Their shared experiences evolve into a narrative of rebellion and self-discovery set against the backdrop of the nation's quest for freedom. This intertwined journey highlights themes of courage, resilience, and the awakening of inner strength amid the struggle for independence.

In the film, Ajay Devgn portrays Vikram Singh, a dacoit, while Aaman plays the young stable boy, Govind. Rasha takes on the role of Janaki, the landlord's daughter.

The review of Azaad by Mobile Masala states, "Azaad starts off strongly with assured performances from its cast, but it loses direction in the middle, only to regain its focus by the conclusion, embodying the spirit of Lagaan without replicating its essence."

Rasha expressed that Azaad holds significant meaning for her as it marks her debut project. "I am immensely thankful to Abhishek sir for this opportunity and for his faith in me. This journey has been both beautiful and profoundly special," she remarked.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Azaad features Diana Penty, Piyush Mishra, Mohit Malik, Jiya Amin, and Dylan Jones in key roles. The film is produced by RSVP and Guy In The Sky Pictures, with music composed by Amit Trivedi. Satyajit Pande is responsible for the cinematography, while Chandan Arora serves as the editor.
