Ayushmann Khurrana calls wife Tahira Kashyap's debut project Sharmajee Ki Beti 'a long gratifying journey'

Tahira Kashyap is all set to make her directorial debut with Sharmajee Ki Beti. The trailer for the much-anticipated film is now out and it is about three women of different backgrounds and varying ages who are trying to fit in life with the hustle-bustle of a big city. The film stars Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, and Saiyami Kher in the lead roles. 

Sharmajee Ki Beti Trailer Review

The trailer of the film introduces three parallel leads. Sakshi Tanwar plays Jyoti Sharma who is also a doctor and is stuck in her mid-life crisis. Sharib Hashmi plays her husband. 

On the other hand, Divya Dutta plays Kiran Sharma who is a homemaker who has recently moved to the big city from Patiala, Punjab after running away from her husband. She tries to figure out the city while she also wants to enjoy the calmness. 

The third lead is played by Saiyami Kher as Tanvi Sharma, who is a budding cricketer who plays for the Mumbai women's cricket team but she has boyfriend problems.

Tahira's husband and actor Ayushmann Khurrana shared the trailer on his social media account and penned a heartfelt note for his wife. He wrote: "From hearing the one liner to reading drafts after drafts. You shooting this in our hometown. And witnessing the standing ovation at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. And now finally seeing its actual release. This has been a long gratifying journey for you. You wrote this in 2017.. so so ahead of the curve. Come 2024. It’s Sharmajee Ki Beti time! You go girl @tahirakashyap. You’re born to shine!"
