Spider-Man’s Role in Avengers: Doomsday

For those unfamiliar, it’s no secret that Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, is a key player in the future of the Multiverse Saga. The web-slinger has already encountered the multiverse in his solo outing Spider-Man: No Way Home and is rumored to be the main character in Avengers: Secret Wars. Now, new reports suggest that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will have an even more significant role in Avengers: Doomsday than in any previous Avengers movie. Read on for more details.

Scooper Daniel Richtman shared an update on his Patreon account regarding Avengers: Doomsday. He confirmed that Tom Holland will indeed return as Spider-Man and play a major role in the film. The studio has a plan in place to shoot both Doomsday and Spider-Man 4 in the same year, allowing them to release close to one another. Avengers: Doomsday is set for a May 1, 2026 release, while Spider-Man 4 is speculatively slated for a July 2026 release.

In the scoop, Daniel Richtman stated, "I’ve confirmed that Tom Holland is returning and will have a major role in Avengers: Doomsday. With both Spider-Man 4 and Doomsday scheduled to film in early 2025, some were unsure how he would manage both projects, but it seems they have a plan in place. Holland's role in Doomsday will be more significant than it was in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame."

This development serves two purposes. First, it firmly establishes Peter Parker as a central figure in the Multiverse Saga, as he is one of the few original characters left on Earth-616. Second, with Robert Downey Jr. now confirmed to play Doctor Doom, fans are eager to see an on-screen meeting between him and Peter Parker, given the strong bond they shared when Downey played Iron Man.
