In addition to online users, the Malayalam film industry denounced this incident. As for Asif Ali, he finally spoke with the media today (July 17) to express where he stands on this matter.

Asif Ali’s response over the controversial incident

The young star started out by saying that, despite his initial reluctance to talk about the incident, he felt compelled to address the media after learning about the bitter campaign against Ramesh Narayan. Asif explained, "It was a fleeting reaction because, first of all, the anchor mispronounced his name and second, he was not invited to the stage." He continued by saying that the music composer was also unable to get onto the stage because of his walking difficulties.

The actor stated that Ramesh had acted humanely and that he is not disappointed at all. "I was at a loss for words regarding how to respond following the incident's widespread discussion on media outlets. He begged, "Please put an end to the hate campaign against him." Asif also thanked people for their support and love.

What happened at Manorathangal’s trailer launch?

On the occasion of MT Vasudevan Nair's 91st birthday, the trailer for the web series Manorathangal was unveiled in Kochi. The series will be available for streaming on ZEE5 starting August 15. But Ramesh Narayan, infuriated online users with his startling behaviour at the trailer premiere. The veteran musician caused a stir at the event when he refused to take the memento from Asif Ali and needed to be calmed down by director Jayaraj.

Ramesh Narayan was mercilessly mocked by netizens for demeaning the gifted actor and treating him with disdain when he turned down the Manorathangal team's token of appreciation. After being harshly trolled by internet users for his disgusting behaviour, Ramesh Narayan recently defended himself with an official statement. The musician asserts that he never intended to offend Asif Ali. The composer acknowledged that he had been angry at the time for other reasons.
