Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's partnership with Shahid Kapoor began in 2009 with the release of Kaminey. Since that time, they have worked together on Haider and Rangoon. Recently, it was announced that Vishal and Shahid have joined forces once again for a new film titled Arjun Ustara. In a recent interview, the director discussed his collaboration with Kapoor and also reflected on his experiences working alongside Triptii Dimri and Nana Patekar. The project is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

Arjun Ustara signifies Vishal Bhardwaj's return to working with Shahid Kapoor. This project also marks his inaugural collaboration with Triptii Dimri and Nana Patekar. Regarding his reunion with Kapoor, Vishal expressed to Mid-Day, "Both of us are excited to come back together. The shooting has been terrific."

The director also discussed his collaboration with Triptii and Nana Patekar on the film. He expressed admiration for both performers, stating, "Triptii is incredibly charming and an exceptional actor. This marks my first collaboration with Nana Patekar, and I find myself pondering, why did I not work with him sooner?"

For those unfamiliar, Vishal is presently engaged in the filming of Arjun Ustara. The official announcement for the film was made in 2024, with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment revealing that it is set for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025. The production company shared, "Sajid Nadiadwala presents a Vishal Bhardwaj film! A remarkable cinematic journey commences on January 6, 2025, with the film releasing on December 5, 2025 (sic)."

In the same discussion, Vishal emphasized the significance that quality music contributes to a film's success. The filmmaker, who also creates music for his projects, remarked, "Once again, a film tends to succeed if its songs resonate with the audience. Tauba tauba [Bad Newz, 2024] serves as an example where both the song and choreography were effective, leading to the film's success. I am uncertain if that is entirely accurate."

Shahid Kapoor's latest films

Regarding Shahid Kapoor's recent projects, he was recently featured in Rosshan Andrrews' film Deva, which garnered mixed reviews and did not perform well at the box office. Prior to this, he appeared alongside Kriti Sanon in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

In terms of his foray into the OTT space, Kapoor made his debut with the series Farzi, created by Raj & DK, which also stars Raashii Khanna and premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, viewers can find several of Shahid Kapoor's films available on OTTplay Premium.
