Kalyan Ram, known for his significant success with the film Patas, has engaged in a variety of intriguing projects in recent years. He has now collaborated with the iconic actress Vijaya Shanthi for an action drama named Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi, which premiered on April 18, 2025.

While the narrative and storyline followed a conventional path, the unique presentation contributed positively to the film's performance at the box office. In contrast, the other release, Odela 2, starring Tamannah Bhatia, known for her roles in Naa Nuvve, Oosaravelli, and Happy Days, underperformed at the box office, thereby providing an unintended advantage to Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi.

The action drama centers on a conflict between a mother and her son, stemming from their differing life principles. The mother serves as a police officer, while the son chooses a misguided path. The final twenty minutes of the film are presented in a highly engaging and emotional fashion. The climax's unexpected twist and its execution have received positive recognition. Vijaya Shanthi, known for her role in Osey Ramulamma, has been praised for her performance in these pivotal scenes.

However, The primary criticism of the film is its adherence to a conventional storyline reminiscent of those frequently encountered in 1990s cinema. Saiee Manjrekar stars as the female lead, while this film also represents Sohail Khan's debut in the Telugu film industry. Although he portrays the main antagonist, his performance has faced ridicule, as reviews indicate it did not meet expectations.

The OTT platform for Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi has not been finalized yet; however, current speculation suggests that it will be available for streaming in the third week of May 2025.
