Arjun Kapoor entered the world of showbiz with Habib Faisal's film, Ishaqzaade. The actor played a lead role in the 2012 film alongside Parineeti Chopra. Kapoor's first film worked well and he got appreciated for his performance in the romantic actioner. In a recent interview, Arjun reflected upon his first Bollywood film and working with Parineeti. The actor admitted that he had initial reservations about Chopra being cast in the YRF film.

Why was Arjun Kapoor against Parineeti Chopra being cast in Ishaqzaade?

In an interview with Mashable India, Arjun spoke about Parineeti being cast in Habib Faisal's Ishaqzaade. "I was very against her when the casting happened. I was like, ‘Yeh bahut baat karti hai (she talks a lot)’ and her readings were also bad. Parineeti Chopra does not like doing workshops and readings; she’s a very spontaneous actor. Or perhaps, she saves it for the sets," revealed Arjun.

The actor further recalled how his Ishaqzaade co-star reacted when he cracked a joke on the first day of their shoot. Parineeti simply said 'lol' and to this, Arjun reacted, "I was like, ‘Can’t you just laugh?’ It’s not a chat, right? Why are you saying ‘lol’ (laugh out loud)? Just laugh. I found her irritating since she talked in emojis."

Kapoor also thought Parineeti wasn't being serious despite getting a big film. The actor added that he along with team Ishaqzaade waited for 6 months to get an actress to play Zoya. "When we finally did, Zoya was doing ‘lol lol.’ I was like, ‘Mera career khatam hogaya (my career is over),’ since this girl doesn’t have any interest," he recalled.
