Archana Sastry was once among the most prominent figures in Telugu cinema. Following her marriage, she chose to step away from the industry; however, she later made an appearance on Bigg Boss Telugu. Currently, she is poised to return as the lead in a film titled Karmastalam.

Archana's return to Telugu cinema

The initial glimpse of the film was recently revealed, and it is undeniably captivating. The intricately designed poster presents the characters in a compelling and visually appealing manner, with Archana’s look and attire prominently featured.

The silhouette of Goddess Mahishasura Mardini in the background enhances the film’s magnificence, showcasing the remarkable VFX work. Karmastalam is produced by Roy Films under the direction of Srinivas Subrahmanya’s production company.

The gripping drama is helmed by Rocky Sherman, whose initial vision has sparked considerable interest regarding the film's potential. The cast includes notable actors such as Mitali Chauhan, Vinod Alva, Kalakeya Prabhakar, Balagam Sanjay, Nag Mahesh, Dil Ramesh, and Chitram Sreenu in prominent roles.

The production team is making every effort to ensure a nationwide release in the summer of 2025. After an extended break, Archana expresses her excitement about her return, revealing that Karmastalam draws inspiration from the theme of Mahishasura Mardini and that taking on such a formidable role in her comeback film is a realization of her aspirations.

She further acknowledged that while the narrative was intriguing on paper, she initially harboured concerns about how a first-time director would approach such a profound subject. Nevertheless, after arriving on set and viewing some preliminary footage, her confidence markedly increased.

Karmastalam has been in development for an extended period, primarily due to the extensive visual effects involved. As the project approaches its final stages, director Rocky Sherman expresses confidence that, although the film does not feature prominent actors, it will generate significant interest upon its release.
