Antony Varghese, the Malayalam actor known for his roles in Daveed and Angamaly Diaries, is set to collaborate with Keerthy Suresh on a new project. He shared this exciting news exclusively with OTTplay.

“I’ll be working on a film with Keerthy Suresh after I finish a few other projects I have lined up,” Antony mentioned, expressing his anticipation for the release of his sports drama Daveed, directed by newcomer Govind Vishnu, which is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14.

Keerthy’s last Malayalam film was the courtroom drama Vaashi, where she starred alongside Tovino Thomas. This film was directed by Vishnu G Raghav, who is also behind the upcoming web series Love Under Construction featuring Neeraj Madhav, set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar starting February 28.

Antony kept it under wraps whether the film will be in Malayalam, Tamil, or Telugu. Keerthy is busy with her projects, including Revolver Rita and Kannivendi, which are at different stages of production. Plus, she’s set to star in Netflix’s upcoming series Akka alongside Radhika Apte.

On Antony's side, he’s got a bunch of exciting projects lined up, including films with the directors of RDX and Marco. The RDX film features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. “Next up, I’m working on a movie with Nahas Hidayath. After that, there’s a project with Haneef Adeni, and then another one with Marco producer Shareef Muhammed, directed by a good friend of mine,” he shared.

His next project is Daveed, where he plays a bouncer who becomes a professional boxer. Talking about carrying a film on his own, he mentioned, “It definitely comes with its challenges. If a few of the films you’re in don’t do well at the box office, the number of producers willing to back your projects tends to drop, budgets get smaller, and that impacts both us and the filmmakers who believe in us. Movies like Daveed might not even get off the ground. I’m in this position now thanks to the success of films like RDX and my earlier work.”

He’s optimistic that Daveed will be a hit, which could help boost the scale and budget of his future projects. “I feel that pressure, and I think every actor does. That’s why we all want our films to succeed, and we also hope that other movies releasing at the same time do well too. Everyone puts in a ton of effort and time into making these films,” he added.
