Anjaamai is a Tamil social drama which released in theatres earlier this year. The film features Vidharth, Vani Bhojan, and Rahman in prominent roles. Anjaamai is now streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium app.
The film is said to be based on true events that took place in 2017. It revolves around a struggling farming family of four who live in the rural areas of Tami Nadu. With their son Arundhavam being bright in his studies and aspiring to be a doctor, his father Sarkar goes to all lengths to make his dreams come true. Even to the extent of leaving his stage life as a theatre artist and resorting to being a flower farmer to fend off his son’s education. However, despite bagging top honors in school exams, Arundhavam and Sarkar face battles when NEET exams pose obstacles, after Arundhavam’s exam center is placed somewhere in the northern part of the country.
Anjaamai revolves around the struggles scores of students and parents go through in order to become doctors.

Anjaamai is written and directed by director SP Subburaman in his directorial debut. The film is produced by M Thirunavukarasu MD under the Thiruchithram Productions banner. Dream Warrior Pictures presented the film. The film's technical crew consists of Karthick cranking the camera and music scored by Raghav Prasad. The editing is handled by Ramsudharshan. Arivumathi, Karthik Netha, and SP Subburaman have penned the lyrics.
Anjaamai opened to mixed reviews upon its release. OTTplay review of the film reads, “The film merely presents us with a collection of emotional clips and template narrative, that does not make you want to get attached and invested into the film.”
