Even after watching it, Animal, which will continue with the sequel titled Animal Park, leaves a lasting impression (not a good one for many). Now, both those who missed watching the film on the big screen and those who enjoyed it can stream the Ranbir Kapoor-starring film on Netflix over the weekend. While everything is going on, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is hard at work on the sequel.

Development plans for Animal Park

According to Mid Day, industry sources have scheduled the writing of the second film for February. While Vanga is in the process of filming the cop thriller Spirit with Prabhas over the next few months, the members of the writing team for Animal Park will be working on developing the script based on the plot idea that he has has provided.

The source also told the tabloid that Animal Park's fundamental framework was ready at the time of writing Animal. Initially, the plan was for it to be a multi-film event. The character of Ranvijay (Ranbir), as well as his resemblance, will be the primary subject of the second section. The story will bring the protagonist's bond with his son and the home conflict between him and his wife, Geetanjali (Rashmika Mandanna), to the forefront. While working on Spirit, Sandeep will regularly update Pranay Vanga on the script, which other people mostly write. Only during the second part of the year 2024 will he begin to actively collaborate with the writers.

Ranbir Kapoor's busy schedule aligns with sequel timing

Taking into account Ranbir's packed schedule, which includes films such as Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, the idea seems to be a perfect fit. The source also added that the two high-profile productions will keep him busy until the middle of the year 2025. In the following year, he will solely concentrate on Animal Park.

All three films are absolutely character-driven and performance-oriented, which definitely makes Ranbir's lineup meaty and quite exciting.
